So, not too much is going on with me right now. I was on the work schedule for Black Friday, and now I'm not on it this week again. *sigh* I guess I do need to start looking for something full time or a career.
I'm working on a couple of papers for my class right now, too. It's hard to believe that these are going to be my last papers, and I get so excited about that, yet I lack the motivation to work on them. It's like pulling teeth. I had this last weekend to work on them a little, and I didn't touch them. My parents were out of town to visit relatives and I only had to work a couple of days. Oh well, I had fun anyway.
I got to spend Thanksgiving with David, just the two of us. It was a ton of fun. We roasted a duck for dinner and it turned out great. I also made a pretty awesome cheesecake. But the best part of all was getting to hang out with him without worrying about being home by a certain time. I'm glad that I got to spend the time with him, even if he did get called in to work a couple of times.
Other than that, life has been the same old, same old.
Yeah, I know that my writing style on here isn't as cohesive as it usually is, but it's been so long since I've updated. -.- |

Since I don't post too often I should really do a long post, but I've never been good at that, so instead, I'll sum up.
~I'm a total LJ stalker and truly enjoy reading up on my FList everyday, I wish LJ was more active, it makes stalking easier!
~School is ... crazy, to say the least. Yet again, I can't even begin to say how hard it is. But, I'm doing well. For someone who NEVER had to try at school or much else for that matter, I've never been so happy to see a B on anything I get back!
~I find out if I made it to internship in 2 weeks or so. Between then and now is 2 hard weeks of finals, one or more a day (I'm taking 18 credits). Most of our grades are already determined (70% or so) and I should be in the clear as far as grades go. You have to have a B or better in all of your classes to be considered for internship and then the teachers decide from that list who is ready to go on. I should be good. Lets just pray I don't tank finals!
~I had a full week of for Thanksgiving. I was going to get so much done.... then I got sick... Still got some stuff done, just not enough. The house is a mess, but Joe's off next week so that sounds like a good job for him!
~Speaking of my main man, he's an official true blood hockey player. He got his 2 front teeth smashed and chipped up/off in his hockey game on Wed. It was pretty gruesome. He thought it was cool. We spent some time in the ER to make sure he didn't need stitches on his lip where the jagged teeth cut it open and they put a temp coating on his teeth. Then we spent Friday afternoon at the Dentist getting them epoxied together. He's going to wait to get crowns.
~We got a sweet new TV. Pretty geeked about that. It should be here Monday!!!
~I love where I live. We've probably had 6 feet of snow so far this year and you'd never know it because it all melts within a day, sometimes 2. I love the sun all the time, I'm not sure I could handle anywhere else.
~I also have some pretty sweet friends at school. My birthday was Friday and they went all out. They surprised me with a cake and gifts and a mini party at school, then they surprised me again with dinner and a night out. I knew something was up, but I was blown away by what they did. I'm pretty lucky and they truly made my Birthday one of the top 3 ever, if not the top.
~I know my FList has a lot going on, but I thought you'd be happy to know just how happy and excited I am for the future!

| Black Friday Rant |

So I had to be up to Target at 4:45AM for the Black Friday rush. At 5AM, people came running in. I was stuck behind the Jewelry counter all day ringing people up, so I didn't have to deal with everyone pulling at me to answer sales questions. However after scanning and bagging shit up for six straight hours, I was getting a little crazed. Didn't really have too many problem people. The one girl that really pissed me off had stood in my line for a while. Finally, she was next in line. I was trying to wrap up the guest in front of her, but of course something has to fuck up. Two items this guest scanned were not ringing up as the sale price, so I had to call people over to help me because I can't do anything. I'm not a supervisor and my numbers won't go into the computer. A couple more minutes is all this girl has to wait for me to fix this problem, but No. She gives me a pissed off look and says "Would it just be quicker if we took our stuff up to the front?" WTF?! You just stood in line for like 25 minutes. You're the NEXT one in line. You really going to bitch about having to wait like six more minutes? You really think the lines that are lined up all the way to the back of the store is going to be quicker? FUCK OFF, YOU IMPATIENT LITTLE PRICK!
I only snapped once at a person that day, but it wasn't to a customer. It was at another Team Member, but I think I was justified in my reaction. The store hadn't even opened. I was asked to take another Team Member their break out card to them. Well, her name (We'll call her Susan) threw me for a minute because I only knew of one Susan in that store and she was not working until the night shift. I never knew we had two Susans working there. So I asked where she went and then set off in the direction where she was scheduled. When I got there I saw a lady and so I said, "I have Susan's breakout card." The lady looked at me and got SOOOOO offended that I didn't know who she was. "WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?" she yelled at me, and then proceeded to bitch. I turned around while she was in mid-rant and said, "I don't have time for this today" and walked off. I had a whole day of bitching and running around ahead of me. I didn't need that shit from another Team Member when the store hadn't even opened. Yes, I have seen you before, but I never talked to you. I don't know you. You work different days then I do, so alas we never struck up a camaraderie. Now you have made sure that it never happens.
In other news- Deals that my mom hit on for me while I was working - Portable DVD Player, The Grinch with Jim Carrey, and Dexter Season One. :) |
